Who Cares

I do. Born in Dayton, Tennessee, raised in Chattanooga, spending 20 years traveling the globe, now in Nashville, why would I care about what happens in Georgia? Because I lived long enough in a suburb of Atlanta to serve as commissioner of public works, commissioner of emergency services (fire, police and rescue), councilman, mayor pro tem and acting mayor.

Since the election, Trump is decapitating our national security apparatus. He fired the secretary of defense and is actualizing the same fate for the head of the FBI and the CIA. Why? They have failed to be total stooges for him.

So, what has that to do with the state of Georgia? Well, for starters, they happen to be a part of this country. Secondly, they are preparing to vote in a run-off for both of their senators.

Trump’s actions, in seriously damaging our national security, mark him as a traitor to this country, There is a reason that the major dictators of the world haven’t congratulated Joe Biden while every international democratic leader has. Also, Trump is further damaging our national security by refusing to allow Biden and his transition team access to security briefings and forbidding his administration to meet with Biden’s people. All of that puts our nation in jeopardy.

Still, why single out Georgia? Georgia’s senators are total sycophants, stooges and toadies. They are behaving so for what they deem their own best interests – to hell with the security and well-being of the country. They fear that Trump will sic his partisans against them and they would lose the power and perks of being a senator.

If Trump is a traitor and they support him unconditionally, ipso facto. they are traitors. To carry it further, knowingly voting for a traitor makes those voters traitors, or idiots and/or stooges.

There are numerous other reasons for Georgian voters to oust their present senators. Few citizens of that state are millionaires but both of their senators are. Do you really think they identify with the bulk of voters of that state? Their records in office clearly show they will always stand against the interests of the people. Is that not enough to oust them? There’s more.

Both of Georgia’s present senators have been proven to have taken advantage of their positions to use inside information available to them to benefit themselves financially, to the tune of millions of dollars. That’s a major reason for them spending millions of dollars to hold on to seats that they consider theirs. They are wrong, of course. Those seats belong to the people of Georgia. Both miscreants should be in prison, not the Senate.

Georgia had a less than glorious beginning as a penal colony. It has come a long way since. There is still a way to go. The county where I resided went for Biden by 84.9%. Great, but it should have been even better. And, the rest of the state should have matched Clayton county.

A son-in-law is from Georgia and two of my grandchildren were born there. I don’t want them to be ashamed of the state because they will retain two traitors in the Senate. I don’t want to be ashamed. I don’t want this nation to bear that shame.

I care.

If you found this educational, edifying, interesting or otherwise worth your time, this geezer would appreciate a little supplement to those Social Security checks, They forgot to factor in the cost of publishing a blog.

Many thanks,

Crawford Harris.

p.s. I would just like to also address voters not necessarily in Georgia. Everywhere on the news you see Republicans in Congress and in the administration denying that Biden has won. Denying reality. Why would anyone want the person supposedly representing their interests be someone that denies reality, whether they really believe such nonsense or whether they are saying it for some expected political advantage, i.e., hoping it will keep Trump from throwing his minions against them.?
