The Biggest Lie?

Crossed Finges

There are numerous candidates for both the biggest lie and the biggest liar. Hopefully, we will be rid of the latter come January. As for the biggest lie, I concede that, while you you may have a different one in mind, after watching this video you will definitely consider this a reasonable choice for the title. What is the basis for my pick? Jobs. They come in handy, if you have one.

This particular lie is not the exclusive property of any party. While most politicians on the national level know it to be a lie, they all continue to employ it. If they are unaware that it is a lie, they have no business holding public office. No. I’m not saying that the knowledge that it is a lie merits any brownie points.

Whether the politicians realize it or not, you certainly need to. Knowing this goes a long way to understanding the truth about a great many issues that confront us, both as a citizenry and as individuals.

Too many people in this country think that matters would improve if all of those jobs that were sent abroad would just be brought back. Spoiler alert: the number of jobs that will return is negligible. Such fantasies will not solve our problems. Anyone selling that is lying to you. I can’t make it any clearer or simpler than that.

There are types of jobs that can and will be created for which it would be difficult or impossible to export. Many of those future jobs will require an educated workforce. That is going to require a significant investment in education.

As the video points out, the fact that over half of our adult population is actually unemployed and that jobs paying a livable wage are declining does not bode well for our future. We need massive efforts to put this country back in the forefront. It will be difficult to make any credible progress in that direction without an awareness of the truth that our “leaders” try to hide from us.

They worry that if we all know how unsuccessful they have been, we may want to replace them with people that are competent.

If you found this educational, edifying, interesting or otherwise worth your time, this geezer would appreciate a little supplement to those Social Security checks, They forgot to factor in the cost of publishing a blog.

Many thanks,

Crawford Harris.
