Senator Koch

Bought and paid for, this political prostitute refuses to support a bill that he co-sponsored. He is bipartisan all by his lonesome. He supposedly represents the people of West Virginia. Somehow, he accomplishes this by opposing a voting rights act supported by close to 80% of the people of that state. That, of course, is not what Charles Koch wants.

Someone needs to explain politics to Little Joe. If the people wanted the Republicans to dominate the legislative process, they had plenty of opportunity to vote them back into the majority. Though the Senate is 50/50 the number of voters for the Democrats were more than 41 million greater than those voting for Republicans. Despite gerrymandering, voter suppression, preying on low-information voters’ fears and lying, they were overwhelmingly rejected.

So, if they don’t want Republicans, they don’t necessarily want Republican policies.

And, they certainly don’t want someone owned by a John Bircher dictating who is permitted to vote. John Bircher? Charles Koch’s daddy was a co-founder of the John Birch Society and Charles grew up in that society. For those too young to remember, they were the Marjorie Taylor Greene  of the 1950s, 1960s, and on. They accused President Eisenhower of being a communist  tool.

Charles Koch and his late brother David, have spent hundreds of millions of dollars buying politicians. His stated goal is to dismantle Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment  insurance, all public schools, public hospitals and essentially all of the government except for the military and police. He recognizes that his policies would not sit well with the 99%, so he would significantly increase spending on those two, to deal with the disorder. He would outlaw unions, eliminate the middle class and abolish all child labor laws.

Manchin is but one of about a score of national politicians known to be in Koch’s pocket.

Charles Koch’s favorite author is Ayn Rand. She wanted to make the government so small that it had to leave wealthy mavericks alone to do whatever they wished. Her hero, on whom she based her book’s hero, was a man that kidnapped and murdered a 12-year old girl, cut her into pieces, took the ransom from her father and kicked the pieces out of the car.

She also let Medicare pay for her heart and lung transplant, though calling it communistic. Rand Paul was named after her. Former Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, required all of his staff to read her book, Fountainhead.

If you think I am exaggerating about The Kochs and the other plutocrats, just read Democracy in Chains by Nancy Maclean, a professor of history at Duke University. She shows how many changes that work in favor of the elite have been planned over several decades and funded by the Kochs and their ilk. She connects the dots and the picture that emerges is chilling.

Sorry, West Virginians, there may be a Santa Claus. but it sure ain’t Joe. He has no intention of putting anything you want under your tree or heeding your preferences, needs or wants. You don’t pay him enough. Bipartisanship is only camouflage. It means no more to Joe than your opinions.

Just look at the picture above. The voters are to his left . . . and he just looks the other way.

Late entries: Here’s proof that I’m not alone in providing criticism of Manchin and it’s presented in a far more entertaining fashion.

It’s your lucky day. Here is Farron Cousins on his Ring of Fire show.

If you found this educational, edifying, interesting or otherwise worth your time, this geezer would appreciate a little supplement to those Social Security checks, They forgot to factor in the cost of publishing a blog. I would like to continue being able to afford my daily cup of coffee and pound of caviar.

Thank you,
