Forget Dr. Ford

You may know it as a temper tantrum. Down here we call it a ‘hissy fit.’ Is this the temperament of a Justice of the Supreme Court,  even of a night court judge in a one-horse town?

A show of anger, particularly in public, particularly in the setting of an official inquiry, is unacceptable by any standard. Do you consider it appropriate to publicly interrupt several senators, yell at them and snarkily interrupt to ask those senators questions.? Is defiance the correct attitude for a job interview?

Here is someone who assisted Kenneth Starr in the investigation of President Clinton. Here is someone who bought into the conspiratorial accusation that the Clintons killed their best friend, Vince Foster. Here is a hyper-political operative in the George W. Bush administration.

Here is someone who has attacked Democratic senators as leftists bent on carrying out a political conspiracy. Decorum is apparently not in his personal vocabulary.

Can you visualize a job opening listing the following criteria? Anger, belligerency, a problem with alcohol, a problem with gambling, argumentative, numerous reports of misogyny, a lack of candor, conspiracist, ultra partisan, proven liar. Perhaps the criteria for a lifetime appointment to the highest court are a bit more lax than for a greeter at Walmart.

If this totally unqualified person (see previous posts) is seated on the Supreme Court, that bench will carry a stench as long as he is a part of that court. The reputation of the court should be more important than the ambition or reputation of one individual. After all, it is not the Supreme Court of the Republican Party, or of Donald Trump, or of Brett Kavanaugh. It is not a right. It is the Supreme Court of “We the People.”

One last point: Senator Feinstein was accused both of hiding the letter from Dr. Ford and of leaking it. I am wondering why our questions are not pointed in a different direction.

There is a creep named Edward Whelan. He clerked for Scalia. He served as deputy assistant attorney under George W. Bush. He is a friend of Brett Kavanaugh. Why was he googling Dr. Ford at least 2 days before her letter was leaked?
