The Class War Is Lost

You've Lost The Shirt Off Your Back And Are Still In DenialDid you even notice that there was a war going on? There has been a one-sided class war going on for decades. It is now over.  The elites won decisively.

It’s really quite odd. Few of the poor and middle class realized it was happening. Most of the wealthy also were unaware of the war. How could that be?

Look at Geithner. Is he a bad guy? No. He’s just someone sucked into Wall Street’s version of scientology. Some have suggested that he be replaced by an actual deer in the headlights. His arrogance and hubris go unnoticed by his friends and peers, even by he himself. It is just so ingrained in the elites that they accept their sociopathy as normality.

Were those AIG criminals entitled to or worth those millions in bonuses? In the minds of the elites they were. Are the robber barons of large corporations justified in spending more than the average family’s annual income for one trip in a private jet? Ask them. Is their $24,000 toilet more important than the misery of tens of thousands of families after the layoffs the greed of these elites brought about? Of course.

The enemy is not seen as being human. Therefore, whatever grief befalls them can be easily ignored. Foreclose on those losers. Kick them out on the street. Deposit my bonus in that Caribbean bank.

A few of the super elite and their lackeys at the think think tanks they created knew there was a  war. They see the world as divided not by national borders. They see it as marked by class. If you don’t belong to the same country clubs, sit on the same boards and have autographed copies of Ayn Rand’s complete works, you are either the enemy or one of their stooges.

Those receiving the AIG bonuses were just some of the well-recompensed stooges. Being so well-treated, it would be only natural that they see the assumptions of their masters as legitimate. The fundamental assumption is entitlement.

These people go to the same schools, the same clubs. They read the same nonsense. When they look for opinions they only hear that which agrees with their assessment that they are the Masters of the Universe. Geithner came from that milieu. He talks only to those who are members of the same cult. I am reminded of the famous remark that “the Lowells talk only to the Cabots. And the Cabots talk only to God.”

This unwarranted self-assurance in their religious correctness, this certitude, usually impresses those not privy to the secrets of the universe. Enter Obama. Enter 99.44% of all politicians.

Our leaders accept these twits on their own terms. They accept their blather as though inscribed in stone. They look up to them.

When our leaders are told that a corporation is too big to fail, they accept that and fork over whatever they are told. When they are told that we must give their fellow gamblers 100 cents on the dollar for the assets they made toxic, the check gets signed. Since their religion is based on class rather than borders, the American taxpayers mortgage their grandchildren’s futures to ensure that foreign gamblers don’t suffer.

The elite and their minions have severely crippled the entire world’s economy through their greed. Now they tell us that the solution, our only salvation, is to fork over our credit cards to give them even greater profits. And our leaders will do it. They will do it for two reasons. The first is that they trust these criminals. The second is that trickle-down economics comes into play. I’m speaking of the real trickle-down economics. A small part of the massive amounts the masters receive is funneled through the lobbyists back to Congress.

Just in case anyone forgot, the rich get richer. To the victors belong the spoils. The war is lost.

Which one thing?

He said capitalism contained within itself the seeds of its own destruction. A capitalist tries to garner as large a market share as possible. If he is successful to the ultimate, he has created a monopoly. Therefore, capitalism has ceased in that industry or market.

Government, to protect its citizens, must intervene by either nationalizing a monopoly, breaking it up or regulating it. Karl didn’t expect capitalist governments to come to the aid of the people. Most capitalists don’t want the government to come to the aid of the people. Witness the damnation of FDR when he was actually saving capitalism.

As a member of the proletariat who aspires to join the bourgeoisie, becoming part of the aristocracy never entered my mind!

It looks like Marx bet on the wrong side.

Karl was not a tout one should pay much attention to. He only got one thing right in all of those volumes of turgid text.
